Reflective safety vests are an extremely safe choice for owners of dogs. A person should wear a safety vests, which is usually yellow with orange reflector, when they are hunting, working in a dangerous area, or when they want to be see in less then perfect conditions outdoors. These vest usually cover the chest area, but new studies have shown that putting reflectors on the legs, especially when jogging, can be more effective due to the movement of your legs being more noticeable for oncoming drivers. The vest should not be too tight but not too loose either. The vest come in sizes to fit all types of dogs. The smaller Reflective Vest will fit a dog up to thirty five pounds. This size will work with cocker spaniels, dachshunds, and other small breed. The medium size is for dogs between thirty-six and sixty pounds. This size will fit Dalmatians , boxers, and smaller retrievers. The large size vest is suit dogs from sixty-one to a hundred pounds. This size best fit’s the rottweilers, German Sheppard, and other large dogs. When in doubt of the size do not be afraid to ask to try a vest on the dog to ensure proper fit.
